Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. There are more than 20 albums that were released by her. The songs of DiFranco are classified as folk and alternative rock. However, they also incorporate elements of hip-hop as well as jazz and punk. Ani DiFranco was the very first musician to start her own record label in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each one another while students at the same school. Ani has the name Kristen Ford. When she was 14, she started to write her own music. Her teens were spent playing them in pubs and cafes. DiFranco was a graduate of her Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school at 16 and started attending courses at Buffalo State College.
